Currently {Vol.1}

Thinking about:

Why I blog. It's been a hard past few months, and it definitely has shown in the lack of posting around here. I do love it though - I love sharing and emptying my brain somewheres. I love keeping up with you and hearing about your thoughts. I love the sense of mama community that having this .com gives me.

I do often think of giving it up, but then I realize that I count it amongst my 10 (do I even have that many?) top favorite activities I get to do to keep myself mentally, emotionally, spiritually healthy. So, on I write/share randomness.

Reading:

On the line: This fabulous piece by Haley of Carrots for Michaelmas on the Pope and the Culture of Life featured on Catholic Exchange. A blip for you: "We must give thanks for the noise of life in a world of death."

In real paper or on my digital make-do: Making headway on my 2014 Book Goals -
I have completed Pride and Prejudice though I sadly still don't own any of these beautiful editions of classics. And also Wives and Daughters via IBooks.
Also on IBooks I'm finally making my way through Orthodoxy!

Listening to:

Been playing a mix of Aloe BlaccPunch Brothers, and Billy Joel. Random, but they seem to mesh fairly well.

Watching:

LegenDaddy is done with Downton Abbey after last season - he can no longer handle the soap opera drama of it all, so I am watching it solo. Sherlock, however, has us both hooked. Are you keeping up with either this Season?

Cooking in the kitchen:

Crock-potted some Lentil + Beef Stew yesterday from From Your Freezer To Your Family: Slow Cooker Freezer Recipes. We've loved pretty much every recipe that we've tried from Stephanie's book!

Rest of the mealplan through Monday:
Leftovers
Vegetarian Chili
Guinness Stew (For St. Brigid's Day)
Baked BBQ Chicken w/ oven roasted potats, brussel sprouts, and salad
Homemade chicken nuggets w/ sauteed veggies

Super excited about:

Our coming into Full Communion with the Church (2 weeks + a bit!) AND my first Catholic Women's Conference - I'll be at the local Rochester one in March. Any readers attending? I'd love to meet up with you!

Thankful for:

Cuddley little boy hugs. Blaise, if you try to kiss him, always insists on a hugging session to wrap it up.  At night, I often am awoken by him wrapping his tiny arm around my neck in a hug (right before he sleepily says "Excuse me" and attempts to push me out of bed...)

Super grateful for the weather "warming up" to the 20s and 30s this weekend. The 0º craziness is just not cool, New York. After holing up inside the beginning of the week, our cupboards were begging to be filled, so I ended up dragging two tiny puffed up penguins (think Christmas Story) out to the grocery store in weather that boasted a windchill of -16º. Yeeps. No fun.

  1. What an exciting and wonderful time, that you're about to enter into full communion with the Church! Congratulations!

I loved reading this one --- and I've never watched Sherlock yet. I love finding shows that my hubs and I watch together so I need to try that one.

Thanks so much for linking up with us :) ~Jenna

    1. Thanks for the Congrats - we're excited! I highly recommend Sherlock - the first two seasons are on Netflix and maybe on Amazon Prime, too...
Thanks for having a fun linkup!

  2. We watch Sherlock on tv and then I spend the next week re-watching it, having it on in the background while I clean the kitchen, do dinner prep, and even once during quiet time when I had nothing to do but hold the baby. So yes, I'm keeping up with it. :)

And you're right about blogging... sometimes I become frustrated with it for various reasons but I always come back. It's probably in my top 3 hobbies and I love the community of friends it has given me.

    1. Hmmm maybe I'll rewatch it. I am feeling under the weather today, so perhaps that would be a great filler to this afternoon. =)

I feel like one of the reasons I get frustrated with blogging often is my lack of time/energy/worthwhile filler to do it. So, really what I want is copious amounts of time to spend putting effort into it.

  3. Ohh yay for being so close to Holy Saturday! What a beautiful day it will be. I will be keeping you in prayer as you continue your journey! As far as Downtown Abby goes, I feel the same way. So frustrated about how it ended last season but I'm such a sucker and am back watching it again haha.

    Blessings on your week!!

    1. Thanks for your prayers! We actually will be joining much sooner than Holy Saturday - February 16th. I'm very excited to be joining before Lent, so we can fully participate in the Sacrament of Eucharist during the Season.

I think I keep hoping for Downton Abbey to surprise me with an fantastically great episode... maybe in one of the next few weeks. Here's hoping!

Heyo! Welcome to Two Os Plus More! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a note. I *do* read and appreciate each and every comment, but sometimes due to, you know, life and stuff, it does take me a bit to reply. Cheers!
